Ingredients
  • For a 10" pie crust:
  • 4 T of butter, softened
  • ⅓ C dark brown sugar
  • Cream together butter and sugar and add:
  • ½ C chopped Pecans
  • This forms the Praline layer. Press over pie crust. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool.
  • Scald the milk and water:
  • 1C evaporated milk (2, 5 oz. cans)
  • ⅓ C water
  • In a large bowl mix:
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1½ C of mashed pumpkin (pre-cooked pumpkin: bake sugar pumpkin until soft, cool, and scoop out flesh).
  • ½ C sugar
  • ½ C brown sugar
  • ¼ C maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt.
  • Beat in the Scalding mixture to the sugar, eggs and spices. Pour over praline layer.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50 mins. until set. Cool.
