Mrs. Brown’s Pumpkin Praline Pie
Ingredients

- For a 10″ pie crust:
- 4 T of butter, softened
- ⅓ C dark brown sugar
- Cream together butter and sugar and add:
- ½ C chopped Pecans
- This forms the Praline layer. Press over pie crust. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool.
- Scald the milk and water:
- 1C evaporated milk (2, 5 oz. cans)
- ⅓ C water
- In a large bowl mix:
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1½ C of mashed pumpkin (pre-cooked pumpkin: bake sugar pumpkin until soft, cool, and scoop out flesh).
- ½ C sugar
- ½ C brown sugar
- ¼ C maple syrup (optional)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp cloves
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp salt.
- Beat in the Scalding mixture to the sugar, eggs and spices. Pour over praline layer.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50 mins. until set. Cool.
